My Story: Nutrition is my life’s work and the journey to get here has been worthwhile, fun, and winding. I have enjoyed every bit of highlights and the difficult times; nutrition is too important not to.

Practicing good nutrition, good health, and wellness is self-love. This kind of self-care is selfless; it benefits the individual, the family, the community, and the nation.

My personal journey started at the age of twelve and by seventeen I had already eliminated soda, drank mostly water, and adopted a whole new lifestyle of healthy habits. I discovered how good health and nutrition are healing, sustaining, and empowering. I join those who use food as medicine, becoming an example for my peers. My commitment and passion were contagious. My friends and family looked to me and continue to look to me for guidance and encouragement. Aspiring to do the same for others led me to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition and a master’s degree in Urban Public Health.
